I had high expectations for this movie, watched the trailer which looked great and read reviews beforehand. I watched the first movie a few years ago and thought it was really good.
After watching the second movie a few days ago, I was utterly disappointed. I understand they are trying to shine light on anxiety in real life but I felt like the plot was really boring, I also didn't enjoy how anxiety & Joy were the main emotion the whole movie. I don't really understand why they added Embarrassment, Envy and "Wee Wee"/Bordom) if they barely made it into the movie. I also thought nostalgia was funny but they took her out immediately. Anxiety was interesting for the first bit but not for long in my opinion.
I also think alot of kids under 13 will be watching this movie and It isn't good to be showing young people that they will suddenly get anxiety like that when they turn 13. If nobody explains it to them, alot of children could be influenced by this thinking it will happen to them.
I felt like this plot was choppy and I slowly got un-interested. The old emotions (/Joy/Anger/Sadness/Fear and Disgust), getting stuck in her brain felt like it was recycled from the last movie when Sadness and Joy got stuck.
Alot of people in the reviews said they related alot to this movie, so I'd expected that too. After watching it though, I didn't find one part I felt relatable to.
If I had to, I'd give this movie a 1.5 star for effort. Honestly, I liked the the trailer more.
