Enjoyable series altho wish they had voiceover in English instead of subtitles. Some of the time you miss seeing parts of the Palace they are talking about because you are reading the subtitles. The Fontainbleau episode got a bit carried away about Napoleon history instead of concentrating on the actual Palace

Loved this when it started and wouldn't have missed an episode but the recent series are too sentimental. The continual asking "how wld your (insert) feel if they saw this now" Do you remember what it was like when you brought it in" "what does this mean to you" feels so contrived and is so smaltzy it has put me off watching. I actually find I record the programme then fast forward to the actual work being done and how it looks finished. Shame they changed the format
