Only reason this movie is getting positive reviews is because of Zendaya. If she wasn’t in it, this movie would be a free stream on Tubi or in the $3 movie tub at Walmart. It’s absolutely terrible. Incredibly toxic plot, no real development, and a bunch of unnecessary shenanigans. The camera work and editing seems like something the high school film club would have done. I could get into it, but this is seriously one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It’s wild it’ll probably be considered “one of the best movies of 2024.” It’s literally because Zendaya is in it. I don’t have anything against her, but too many movie goers and critics put her on a pedestal. Half the theater was ready for it to be over by midpoint. Lots of people scrolling on their phones, and frequent bathroom breaks. Do not waste your time with this garbage movie. Even if you like tennis, this isn’t the film for you.
