Funny, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes irreverent (I know, I know, it's a punk thing) - and at all times entertaining and heartfelt. Mr Carter has no problem transferring lyrical forms to pure writing. The man surprised me as well, his childhood could have wrecked a lesser person and there's a few lessons to be learned in his narrative. Would love a Flying Nun-centric book in the future. Meanwhile, Melt and Hail are permanent fixtures on my playlists. Go ahead and buy the book, it's an excellent investment.
