Listened to the audio version driving from New York to Florida. It was a delightful diversion. Almost all my experiences with this series have been under similar circumstances. These books have always pushed the envelope of credulity but this one rips it wide open. On the positive side, Pendergast seems more like himself and I liked that this book has more of a stand alone feel; although it may be launching a new Constance Green arc. Still it does not have any of the Diogenes or Julia baggage that have weighed down some of the previous books for me.
Most of my complaints center on the audio aspect of the book. The volume fluctuated wildly, the voice used for Constance grated and did not fit her character. Lastly, as someone who knows Savannah well, is it too much to ask that the narrator properly pronounce the name of Bonaventure Cemetary or the name of Chatham County?
