Paatal lok is terrific. It's not perfect, but it's easily shades above all Indian crime dramas. No contest. Brilliantly paced, amazing characters with deep back stories, solid performances by the cast, it's just spell binding in its descent into the dark and seedy hell, but you just can't look away. The climax is a bit flimsy, but that's like saying the mouth freshner was average after a 9 course meal.
