I’ve read persuasion watched to versions of Persuasion, this third version is a travesty. Ok it doesn’t have to follow the book page by page but this is nothing like the Persuasion I Know. Making Anne a red wine lover too just ridiculous. I just about made it to the end with a few fast forwards. Persuasion is such a romantic novel will they or won’t they building up to a beautiful end. This did nothing for me just awful the parts the actors played were nothing like you imagined them in the book. My favourite is Rupert Penry Jones as Capt Wentworth & Sally Hawkins as Anne Elliot the Captain certainly a handsome sailor indeed. The 2005 film I’ve watched it 5 times - Wonderful
