To the person who commented about the casting and perhaps slightly romanticized treatment of science, I get where you are coming from (I knew at some point during the show Salazar would have to show off her body, she does pout waaay too much), however, I agree wholeheartedly with the post I read afterwards who said the arguments made regarding the casting and script were elitist and disparaging. I’ve always been fascinated by science even though I’ve never fully understood it. I appreciate 3 Body Problem for making science accessible to me. What I do understand and appreciate, especially as a writer is a good story-the drama, the conflict-a good plot. The show is not simply about science. It’s about life: death, morality, human nature, relationships and power. There are lessons here that extend far beyond the realm of time and space. So to the person that insinuated that idiots would like the show, I’ll say this: I actually do feel smarter having watched I immediately ordered the book,(which is usually better than the tv or film version anyway), and I can’t wait to read it! Had it not been for the show, I would never have considered it.
