Spoilers follow. Another example of Hollywood's pretentious nature getting the better of it. It's the film no-one wanted or asked for. If you're going to use the opportunity to kill off Arthur Fleck and make fans who thought he was the real deal feel foolish, then do it in the first half of the film and use the second to cover the story of the emergence of the real joker. I get it, this was intended to show us that he was, after all, misunderstood and very ill. I also get that it perhaps lays the groundwork for the emergence of the real joker. However a musical? A poor one at that. Scene after scene of irrelevance. Songs lasting five minutes where a 30 second introspection would have done. God it dragged. People walked out of the cinema. I winced each time another song came up. Such a shame. This was terrible. I'll never watch it again.
