I took my teenage daughter's to see it last night. My hopes weren't that high as reboots, remakes and delayed sequels usually do not live up to where they need to be (Ghostbusters for example) Top Gun Maverick is the only exception so far.
I really wanted to like this as did my girls, but sadly we were disappointed with it.
1 person in the cinema even fell asleep snoring around an hour into it. Not long after he was woken up, 2 other people walked out.
It looked great, Delia Deetz was funny, it had some good bits, but it also had some bits that were not necessary, along with some new characters that were just wasted.
It's a slog... A real slow burner for the 1st 30/40 minutes, then it gets ok for a bit, and then the last part and ending was disappointing, cringey and predictable.
Sadly it was obvious that the rest of the audience wasn't that impressed with it either as there was a real sigh of relief when the credits came up and many were slating it on the way out.
I wouldn't care to see it again. It's not Hocus Pocus 2 awful but it's not too far from it.
