I was excited to learn that the makers of Bob's Burgers were creating another show, but the characters are flat and the narrative is, too. I'm not as interested a family that lives in a largely isolated city with a bland, single dad - it just doesn't resonate with me like a family living in a small town on the East Coast does. The cultural commentary, challenging of normativity and quirky banter are some of the most powerful components of Bob's Burgers! I was really hoping this show would have more of the same.
