I didn't like the script, or the characters, and I really wanted that to come across in every shot." The cast, who were contracted to be physically present on set, but were emotionally and spiritually elsewhere or on their phones, agreed** that "The characters were an exciting amalgamation of defunct tropes run together in a bland and unappealing way. Amusingly bad. A naff (but fun) set-up, cut-and-paste characters, and continually implausible dialogue that signposts the bare necessities of plot development (spoiler: it's all silly), as the film lunges from hysterical moment to hysterical moment. Like it was written by Ai that had been kept in isolation from all human interaction, and fed only on a strict diet of discarded B-movie scripts. Both as an existential metaphor and a comedy-drama/drama, it was lazy and unthought-out. For all these car-crash reasons, it's simultaneously unwatchable and unputdownable. Enjoy!
