I never expected another tornado 🌪 movie to too the original Twister. That would be asking a lot. I was afraid that this new movie would have a really sucky plot from the original with overworked CGI. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the plot was cliché; a tragedy throws one off track, guy meets girl, lies revealed, and triumph comes at a climactic end, but it was new and refreshing. It was from a different time and different character experience. What else can we get a from a movie? That's entertainment. As for the visuals and the action, they were intense and quite engaging. They weren't sparsed and drawn out by emotional fillers in between them. I give this a decent 7.9 out of 10 because it had very big shoes to fill.

It is good to watch a show and let it disappoint you for yourself, rather than listen to someone's review. The truth is nothing will ever please everyone. House of Ninjas is a refreshing series. It's jam packed with that nostalgic, feel-good action scenes that were popular in the 80s and 90s but with a more softened, refined look at Asian action flicks. What makes the series more rounded are the expected comedic content, and the Hattoris' struggle to find a satisfactory definition of family. Albeit they're a family of expertly trained shinobis shrouded in secrecy, their desire for normalcy conflicts with their true identity; they are warriors. The main genre category being drama was for good reason. The main characters are not just cliché ninja killers they are a family of shinobi with a rich history, battling grief and rules that seek to restrain their humanity. House of Ninjas is nothing over the top. It is simple but profoundly engaging. No need for an overly critical eye.
