Took family and 3 grand daughters to see this wonderful film. Wife and oldest grandchild 10years old broke into tears at one point. Quality story and endless throwbacks to the Gene Wilder version kept me searching for easter eggs. It also gave background to those inigmatic oompa loompas that so perplexed me for all these many years. Was worth seing just for that. The story unfolds continuously keeping even a 3 year old mind gripped for the whole show. Overall it was a well told and very well acted movie. kudos to the director and cast for the daunting task of prequeling a classic successfully. This one I think is worth going to the big screen and buying when it becomes available so you can view over and over to find all the hidden treasures within.
