I was enjoying this book but was constantly irritated by the lack of background and thin character development. It felt like another couple of hundred pages would fix that, but if I’m honest, I couldn’t have been bothered to read them. The end was so flat it was almost laughable. I’ve really loved the author's other works and can’t understand why this one was so wide of the mark. I ended up feeling really cheated out of a good yarn after I’d finished.
