I watched The Jazz Singer for the first time recently and really enjoyed it. I thought Neil Diamond gave a beautiful performance, considering this was his first acting role. I'm not sure why the reviews were so negative when this originally premiered in 1980. I will admit, the script could have used some polishing and further character development, but the overall story was entertaining. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased the DVD and motion picture soundtrack. It goes without saying, but I'm gonna say it anyway...Neil Diamond's voice is nothing short of spectacular! I loved his rendition of 'Love on the rocks' 😍 If you've never watched this movie, give it a try...you might be surprised.
