A must see for history buffs, historical figures and how they coped with a seemingly impossible situation and odds stacked against them up to the conning tower. Had things gone differently on that particular day, we would...well lets just say "the man in the high castle" might not have been too far off the mark. The couple hour presentation zoomed by leaving us wanting more. We realize that history is written by the victors but the film did portray the imperial forces in a respectful way.
History would have us believe the men who orchestrated this great victory were larger than life, this film portrays them more as they truley were, ordinary men in position to step up and do what needed to be done. With the exception of perhaps MacArthur and Patton, most Generals and Admirals did not see themselves as heros, they left that to history.
The hope in experiencing films such as this is that we come away with gratitude to those who sacrificed so much and to appreciate that, as a wise person once stated, if we don't learn from history we are bound to repeat it ...and that is unthinkable.
