Kate Chopin's short story ”Desiree’s Baby” I would think of this story as a book to try and tell you what it's like to another race or be “different” in race, gender or any. Désirée is an abandoned orphan who was adopted by wealthy plantation owners. Also is married to Armand Aubigny who owns a neighboring plantation. The similes were kind of silly, that's mainly what kept me reading though too. The imagery was quite amazing if I do say so myself I like how she explained the environment. I think I would rate this story a 3/5 because there were some parts that were a little bit weird about it but overall I don't think it's that bad of a book.
