I'm a parent of two kids using these books and companion website. Fortunately for my kids I am able to help them when they get confused. The BigIdeasMath website is incredibly frustrating an has a lot of errors in the solutions. My kids have been using the series for many years, and the mistakes have been punishing and do not seem to get fixed. If I didn't have the knowledge and time to work with them to figure out the incorrect answers it would cause problems. For example, in a question that does not tell you to answer in fraction form the answer is marked wrong if students give the right answer in decimal form (e.g. 1/4 vs .25). Here is an even better one. My kid got marked wrong for entering 0.680 instead of 0.68. Somehow the extra zero makes the answer wrong for BigIdeasMath. Things like this impact my kids test scores, and in turn decrease their interest in trying to get the right answer. Why should they bother when the answers are wrong?
Bigideasmath - Given all the ridiculous reviews here from angry teens I doubt you will read my review. But if you do, please provide a way for people that care to help you by providing feedback on the many incorrect solutions. A wiki or website or something, please, it is really painful and unnecessary.
