Anthony Lawrence

I’ve not seen this film yet, but have decided not be put off by the reviews that are not-so-glowing, to put it mildly. I know nothing of Leonard Bernstein’s private life except for the usual gossip. As a pit orchestra musician many years ago, I don’t need to hear any obvious musical references, especially to West Side Story, in the film score. Those who truly loved this man’s genius and talent have most likely lived his music in their lifetimes. I’ll return here after seeing the film.
