In the tradition of the 1980s British series Pennies from Heaven and The Singing Detective comes this American drama musical series, with a worthwhile story about realistically flawed but mostly sympathetic people, interspersed with a wide range of known popular songs, sung by their original singers and mimed by the actors. Each song is chosen for the lyrics which fit nearly perfectly with the situation in the narrative. Well worth binge watching.
