The Flash film (2023) is a fun and exciting movie that contains a lot of fan service. Like many other films, it has both great and bad aspects. I really enjoyed some of the humor in this film, although it didn't always land for me. The dynamic between the current Barry and young Barry was always quite fun and worked really well. Additionally, there were plot points that were taken directly from the Flashpoint Paradox animated movie, which I enjoyed.
The downsides of the film come with the abundance of unfinished and uncanny CGI that is present within the film. There are many shots that pull you out of the film, and although the director and team behind the film have tried to justify them, they are simply distracting and look unfinished. Furthermore, being a fan of Zack Snyder's work and his recent Justice League re-release, it was disappointing to see Ben Affleck's Batman be made into a fool and given a terrible costume.
Lastly, the final act of the film creates a lot of plot holes within the story, which leave questions unanswered by the end of the film. In conclusion, The Flash was a fun film to see, and I enjoyed certain aspects of it. However, it is definitely not the best DC film, as people have been saying. Overall, a solid 7/10.
