What even was this, truly? SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD!! OVERALL THOUGHT AT THE END!! Honestly, I thought this movie was very good… until about the last half hour or so. It felt mysteriously horror ridden and I was very excited to see what the true end goal of Dr. Horn was. I thought due to Eli having an illness that we would end up in some sort of biological horror region… how did we end up with a weird religious thing? I felt thrown into a tornado when all of us sudden it’s revealed that this entire thing had to do with religion, and my faith in the movie died in that tornado. A good example that brought a religious cult or even something religion ridden into a movie at the end is Hereditary where the ending left you bewildered, but Eli did it in all the wrong ways. I was left facepalming with Eli’s ending, not left at the edge of my seat like Hereditary’s ending. Too cheesy for 2019, I feel bad for Sadie Sink. Final thought: Dollar tree plot line version of Hereditary.

Hello, I watched this movie very recently and I actually felt compelled to finally start writing reviews because of this movie. They did not waste time moseying around with getting to the scares. Straight to the point, but not to where the plot was not built up enough. I do have to say that the scares/jump scares get very repetitive as they’re basically the same thing each time with slight modifications, but that didn’t ruin the movie for me. The ending was pretty baller and overall the movie was worth the watch. I highly recommend this to people with low attention spans and an affinity for horror.
