Love this show. It is an easy watch that gently spoofs so many things at once - academia, military, casual racist stereotypes, everyday sexism, latchkey kids, the nuclear family, 'Murica, flaming liberals, country hicks, etc. It pulls this all off with a lot of heart. Lisa Kudrow is hilarious. Tawny Newsome is a Find - whether flubbing her first historic lines on the moon or jigging out to K-Pop in her fatigues.
Layered on top of the humor this are serious moments - should guns be on the moon? How does having an open marriage work in a fishbowl? Should family or country come first? Does being a man include following even unlawful orders? How different are the people on the other side of the prison fence? And how on earth do you say no to the First Lady, politely?
The examination of the use of force alone is a good reason to watch this series. Hon mention to Yuri and Tony, millennials who are always up to no good and look good doing it.
