I haven’t watched Tiger King and I see in other reviews that this documentary is just another Tiger King but I’m assuming there’s similarities as the person doing this documentary mentioned that he had to get access to film this one by hiring a proxy director because he would’ve otherwise probably been recognized as he was the person behind Tiger King. That being said this show is just riveting! From the crazy tanning booth lady with all of the plastic surgery who genuinely seems to love these chimps but obviously could use some time in therapy for her unnatural attachment to them, by her own admission she loves them more than ANYTHING including her own children, to Alan Cummings and the PETA side to the story and most importantly the chimps! I started watching and I have to admit I was beginning to want a chimp of my own, until you find out that at about 6 years of age they are no longer suitable as a pet you can care for at home but they’re just amazing and they did a fantastic job showing both sides of the story so far (I’m only just starting episode 2) the side of PETA and the incredibly sad side of the woman who is willing to do anything, it seems, to keep a chimp for herself. You won’t want to change the channel, this is absolutely a binge watching show I believe anyone would find fascinating!
