???? The two stars are for the wardrobe, specifically Akasha's looks. I am genuinely so confused, but what I will say is Justice for Akasha. Either the storyline wasn't written properly, or she isn't the big villain the movie makes her out to be. I will not be elaborating further. It is one of those movies that I would definitely describe as a guilty pleasure. The storyline lost me on so many occasions, but there's nothing worse than a boring movie, and this was not that at all. Despite my confusion, I was entertained and would probably watch it again. Again should you watch it for anything let it be for Akasha's wardrobe I fear it was the star of the movie. Oh, and for Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend's energy and overall performance in the movie. It was iconic in a way I can't quite describe.

First of all Nicola Coughlin's range??INSANE. It is such a good watch. It's funny but also genuine and seeing the two main characters grappling with adulthood in their early thirties and their friendship makes it all the more relatable. I have no more words to describe or review it, but it felt so intimate and is just plainly a good show. The depiction of mental health was so eye-opening and felt very genuine as opposed to other depictions, particularly of bipolar disorder that I've seen in media. Highly recommend.

I was really worried going into it having looked at the rating but I loved it within the first 10 minutes. I am a very critical film watcher and have started to hate romcoms released these days. They just fall flat all the time and it's almost like you can never find a good romcom. This movie however was light and easily enjoyable. It wasn't a hard-hitting romance at all nor was it supposed to be. To me, it screamed satire within the very first minutes and I believe people judged so harshly because they took it literally. It poked fun at all the played-out romance tropes in a really funny and exaggerated way. All the scenes that people thought cringy were very visibly intentional thus making it all the more hilarious. I especially liked the dynamic between Milly and Archie as well as Billy and how they approached his "bad boy" character a little differently while maintaining the distinct qualities required of it to be considered one. I found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions at the exaggeration itself and how absolutely ridiculous it is. This is definitely a comfort movie that I wouldn't mind rewatching for a good laugh. If one was looking for a literal romance movie then this isn't for you but if you are looking for something light-hearted and funny then I would highly recommend this.
