It's a no for me. Sometimes classic movies don't require updated versions. I agree with another reviewer, Antoine Robinson, this version felt like a Tyler Perry adaptation. The original film captures the suffering and growth of the characters with intense emotional investments. I left the theater last night exhausted and disappointed from this musical. The original Color Purple... If you haven't viewed it, now is the time!
