As a huge Aretha Franklin fan, sadly, I was let down. The movie lacked luster and was very dry. I love Jennifer Hudson, however, the vocals were not what I needed. She sounded flat and lacked the very essence of Aretha’s greatness, THE OIL.
I’m disappointed and can not say otherwise in all honesty. Aretha’s memory and legacy deserves better.
