The only contribution of “Border” (which is bordering boredom) is to the decline of birthrate (which has decreased worldwide in the past 70 years with a total of 50%!). Too bad for the formerly respectable Cannes Film Festival to become an activist platform celebrating trendy social movements instead of quality cinema. Which you won’t find in Border. You will find however weak dialogue, growling instead of acting under heavy, uninspired makeup, poor, overstuffed screenplay, regrettable story detours, but mostly blatantly disgusting primitive romance. We now should applaud distancing ourselves from our “narrow” condition as humans and embrace “diversity” in every direction. Please Cannes, allow me to cancel YOU, since you have reached my acceptance border!
