In keeping with publisher EA tradition, purchase of BF 2042 induces feelings of being robbed or ripped off! I am really disappointed in developer DICE who have done a stellar job in ensuring I won’t buy another BF title. I can forgive shipping without a single player campaign, but no multiplayer chat or a scorecard? Really? This wasn’t part of the design surely, and in any event there’s been zero communication or acknowledgment of how badly EA/DICE have treated gamers. I expect EA to behave in a way that’s profitable for them at the expense of delivering what gamers have paid for, but a developer going along with it is worse! So here’s my review - game with so much potential ruined by the omission of critical infrastructure (a scorecard system to benchmark performance) and voice chat (comms) - beyond these critical factors, the game is buggy as highlighted by other reviews. Verdict: AVOID unless the game is being sold for under 10 quid! Shame on you EA/DICE
