Jack Reacher appears to die at the beginning of this book and sadly the character of Jack Reacher is in fact absent from the whole book. The integrity and honour of the original character is completely missing and has been replaced by a cardboard comic book action figure who spends his time successfully smashing his way through people and property. The writing is thin with almost all males referred to as a “ guy”. It’s hard to find consecutive pages with out the words “guy” or “guys” in them as well as other words that repeat with tedious regularity. The characterisation of other characters are one dimensional and unconvincing. I am so disappointed. As someone who avidly read every Lee Child Jack Reacher book and has them all I certainly shall not be buying another. I find it hard to believe that Lee Child had anything to with this book. It’s awful, poorly written, poorly plotted and boring beyond belief
