For sheer tension, it is one of the best films ever made. Great acting from a stellar cast. 10/10 Whoever did the casting for this film was an expert in their profession.

A difficult childhood leads to problems in adulthood. Well who knew? A hokey thread (Rosebud), right through the film. Aficionados will try to tell us that the sets and lighting are exceptional, but those are only a small part of any film. Best film ever made? Not in any kind of imagination. The most disappointing film I have ever seen.

Charming, gentle film with a realistic feel. The scenes in the boarding house were laugh out loud funny.

Last nights newscast section on abortion followed the same biased reporting. Firstly, a disproportionate amount of the report was given to women's moral and legal rights where a foetus is damaged in some way, and really no mention of those women who want to abort a healthy foetus. Some people may argue that is abortion being used as a form of contraception. The second thing that bothered me about the report was the way anti abortionists are pretty well always being from religious groups. There are plenty atheists who are against most abortions.

It's disappointing that some people see the mother character in this fine film as a typically poor person. The vast majority of poor people I know, are dignified and hard working, rather than the foul mouthed, violent skank we see. Great performance from Willem Dafoe and the children.

Timeless tale. Still relevant today, and not just in the U.S.A.

An all time classic, starring one of the best actors who ever lived. Just watch the film, and see.
