First off, don't mind my name, thanks. Overall I thought this movie was good. I mean there really isn't much to compare it to since there is little to no trans-masc representation in cinema. I was also frustrated that the actor playing Ray was in fact cisgender. As a trans person myself I am always annoyed when this happens. Don't get me wrong I think Elle Fannings is a wonderful actress, but I think the movie would have made a much bigger impact if there was an actual trans person having the role a trans person. I also wanted to get it out there that I felt like they never really focused on Ray. They were really focused on how the family felt about things and not so much on Ray's experience. Other than that I actually really liked this movie and I will definitely watch it again. :]
