This movie, standing alone and not having seen the original Smile, was confusing, had too much cursing and blood and made little sense. Apparently, the main character was under some spell and on a real bad LSD trip! Finding out in the end that no one died and all of the scenes were fabricated in her head or under the spell of some creature that looked like an incredibly large sad skinless dog on stage, left us all wondering what the heck. The dancing and music, costumes and scenes that had to do with performances were fantastic but everything else was pretty ordinary, if not substandard for an anticipated sequel.
