2/10: Although creative, the woke message destroys Barbie. When Barbie decided to join the purging of patriarchy from Barbie Land, the main tween calls her "white savior Barbie." While a funny woke joke, labeling someone's help with negative terminology like white savior is racist and detracts from the plot. The end was most telling. Barbies creator, Ruth, is showed in a vast white space. Barbie wishes to be human, and asks if she needs permission from her creator. Ruth says she doesn't have the power, for Barbie can choose to be whatever she wants. This is a classic progressive lie. We cannot be greater than who God made us to be. If we aren't gifted to understand the human body, we will never be a doctor. If we are biologically male, we will never be a woman no matter how we feel. Living our best life isn't about doing whatever we feel most strongly about: it's learning to live according to our design as worship to our Designer and Father, God.
