It's unfortunate that such an epic conquest is belittled and misrepresented as greed on the part of Sultan Mehmed II with the over-representation of the byzantine defence as bravery and valour. The bias of the narrative can clearly be seen as being in favour of portraying the byzantinian empire as being the brave and courageous victim of an apparently brutal and ruthless power- hungry monarch which could not be further from the historical truth.
