It's a beautiful story about a clown who has one gift, which is to juggle. He uses this gift throughout his life to make people laugh. In his old age he makes a mistake and drops the balls and the crowd laugh at him and throw stones and vegetables at him. The story ends as Giovanni arrives at a monastery where he sees a carving of Mary and her son Jesus as a small child, who looks sad. Giovanni remembers his old skill and juggles the best he ever has saying For you, dear child. And, as Giovanni drops dead the monks look at the statue and see that The Child is smiling, showing that we should all use the skills that God has given us.
