I used to read the Tom Swift books and I was expecting a reboot with some dramatic changes, but I have seen 5 episodes so far hoping it will get better, but it's really not. It's about a spoiled rich kid who can apparently invent absolutely anything in 30 seconds but is so unlikeable that even his family doesn't want him to run the family business . Oh, did I mention he's gay? Because they do 5 times per minute. A gay black Tom Swift is cool, but does every episode have to be about him being gay, rather than about the science and adventure? It's not groundbreaking , it's a distraction.
