This book is another wartime epic about life in Paris and the French Resistance. It is similar to the book The Nightingale in that there are two women with different viewpoints of war. The plot is very long winded and the dialogue and family dynamics are very contrived and overly emotional. There are many WW2 books out there and I must say I was disappointed in this novel on the whole. Such books as Code Name Verity, the Night Witches and Resistance Women are truly riveting and better written than this novel.
