Falls flat. After the bathtub scene it's all downhill. None of the musical numbers are nearly as catchy or memorable as the original. A catchy tune will stick in your head, these leave your head the second they end, good luck remembering any of them once you leave the theater. Roger Ebert's review is absolutely correct. Yes, I went in looking for a new experience. Trying not to link it to the original. No, I didn't read critic reviews beforehand. All in all the actors were let down by a mediocre story, poorly written and choreographed musical numbers, and visuals that started out nicely but somehow lost enthusiasm a third of the way into the movie.
