“You cannot cheat the natural phenomenon.” A meritorious and intriguing movie directed by Steven Quale supported with supernatural horror and mysterious elements; Final Destination 5. With Nicholas D’Agosto, Miles Fisher, Emme Bell and Tony Todd in the leading cast, the movie undoubtedly presented a whole new concept over a very basic philosophy really well.
The story started with a couple breaking up and a retreat office trip. While in the bus, Samuel had a vision of bridge collapsing and everyone in the bus dying, except for Molly (his ex). And when he woke up from the nightmare, same happened but he got the signs and saved a few, in time. Later, one by one people from the same group started dying, that too because of accidents, mitigating bloodshed accidents. But at every accident’s location one face remains similar; a man, mysteriously warning and smiling. When at the last, just 4 were left, they asked the man about this game and he told that you tried to betray the nature, and that’s not how things work, you need to revert the game. Killing someone and adding his days of life to oneself is the solution and they used this solution, added days to their life still everyone died at the end, in an accident brings thriller and horror as well.
Movie was premeditated really well with cynosure aspects and balanced approach. Sometimes you need to shut your eyes at the death scenes due to extreme bloodiness. I knew the genre of the movie, i.e; horror from the very beginning of the movie and was waiting for the ghost to come but things turned pretty nice and finally, movie’s title was justified; everyone reached their Final Destination.
