I am heart broken for every child and family whose lives have been destroyed by the WWASP program. One of my children’s best friends of 6 years was sent this program at the beginning of Covid. I had a 3 day weekend with this precious soul in December 2023. They shared with me the trama they were experiencing with flashbacks being kidnapped, abused, starved, sexual abuse, isolation and yes death of other residents . The program was shut down in 2021. The child is 18 years old now living outside their parent’s home. The parent child relationship is broken. Never give up hope! Our families today and teens are facing more social challenges that are difficult to understand and relate to. I am very grateful for the resources that have taught me to stop controlling and shaming my kiddo. To allow natural consequences and to work on me. Healthy boundaries that I need in life. The first step to healing is to work my own program. Not that of my child. 4 months into this chapter. We all are healing from trauma and enjoying a new chapter of grace.
