A truly expansive tome by a truly talented English author His best book since Amsterdam I think
Roland Baines the subject is a flawed and fascinating person. Through young abuse to failed marriages through many pursuits, Roland’s takes us back to WWII, the fall of Berlin Wall, the Twin Towers and even Covid. With cultural and political comment and strong relationships.
A truly engrossing read.
