What a disappointment.
Gladwell had set a very high bar for me in the past, each book packed with insights that were succinctly stated. In this book, however, I get the distinct feeling that he had a deadline to meet and a financial advance to justify. Points that could have been made in a paragraph were spread out over an entire chapter. I kept waiting for him to gain traction, but after 61 pages of reading, I felt like the one who was manipulated, manipulated into buying this book. I feel, as I never have before, that Gladwell has underestimated the intelligence of his readers. Or worse, that he stopped caring about his readers more than his pocketbook
Come back, Malcolm. I know you still have it.
