Played and finished on PS5
The game starts off well, with interesting characters and premise, mechanics are introduced and worked well to start.
Combat does evolve a bit as you acquire more abilities, hitboxes gets progressively worse the further along you go in the story which is a shame. One hit kills are also more present in the game than it should in any videogame, these aren't fair or fun, really shouldn't have implemented as many as this game did.
The platforming starts off well with fair destinations to jump/maneuver through, until half way through the game where the launch sponges starts to under/over shoot you towards the next platforming point (another sponge, bubbles, nets). The locked cameras during platforming maneuvers (sponge/bubble launch, zipline) also disallow correction until you're guaranteed to die from falling.
Inconsistency with the platforming mechanics is also made worse by the hitboxes of the terrain obstacles, especially the spikes (feels like the devs used a dome instead of the same spikes therefore you still get hit when you pass through the gaps).
Framerate and overall performance of the game absolutely tanks hard in the later half of the game, it's incredibly noticeable when the zone "loads/changes" and reproducible every time, which made those parts incredibly frustrating to play. I also lost the ability to lock on to enemies consistently in the later half of the game, which makes combat more frustrating than it needs to be.
There is a decent game here, but it's not polished in the later half of the game, consistent bugs and performance issues on top of the poor platforming consistency, makes this a hard game to recommend in this state.
The developer has been patching on other platform, but so far PS5 version seems to be neglected.
