I'm not sure why it is so highly rated but it just seems like a lot of people who don't watch a lot of movies may have rated the movie. And I guess since so many users seem to have mentioned that they watched the movie in Korean, yes I did as well, because a dubbed movie loses its essence. The movie should've been called "Coincidence". The second half especially is very frustrating. I've been on a korean spree recently and this by far is the weakest one out of them and I'm still rating it a 3(well 2.5 or so would've been apt) which tells a lot about the quality of the other movies! Well of course it isn't all so bad. The acting by both the protagonist and antagonist is fantastic. The way the movie has been shot is.. Like all the other korean movies, ie. beautiful. People who love blood and gore will enjoy many scenes, but then again they might as well watch "I saw the devil" instead. The movie in itself is very watchable but its the coincidences and lack of clarity (not ambiguity, but a lack of clarity by the creator as to why so many plot conveniences) make the film much inferior than it actually should be. But again, it's not all so bad because certain people learn certain lessons, the hard way.

The sheer level of commitment. Oh no words to describe this one. The first 40 minutes may feel like an exercise but that's not because it's bad or anything but because only because of it contains majority of the theatrical abomination that Whedon had created, but the backdrop makes it worth it. But what follows this exercise is where the magic lies. Absolutely phenomenal. Couldn't have dreamt and wished for more. And it never felt like a 4 hour long movie. The level of commitment shown is mind blowing. I once again talk about commitment for a very very good reason that I just can't talk about without spoilers. This is madness. The OST - I don't know why they opted not to use Junkie's music in the theatrical release, one in particular is very memorable and becomes the heart of the movie. Cyborg - Talk about changing perception about a character and an actor with a single performance. I cannot believe how badly Whedon had mutilated the character and managed to yield an ehh performance from the actor. (for reference just watch the Cyborg story from 2017 version after completing the movie) Imagine knowing everything about the movie and still being left astounded as to what you've just seen. That's JL. The two versions are radically different, even more different than FMA vs FMAB. That different.

Undoes all the great things it could've achieved by using clichéd and downright horrible dialogues and soundtrack. It gets so generic and almost feels like a parody at one point that one of the characters yells out, "This is ridiculous!" But then again, as you can see 3/5 is not a bad thing at all. Most of it is for the audacity and effort, despite having a limited setting making the most out of visuals that are beautifully shot, followed by believable and good moments. A decent movie.

4.75/5 Audacious. A bit opaque. Which is why more than one viewing will be needed. Too rapid a movie to grasp everything. Dimple Kapadia masterclass imo. Nothing like Irfan khan's "important role in spiderman" or "Amitabh's important role in Great gatsby". Great from an Indian perspective. A movie that was designed to have discussions about. So that's good. Idk why its called inception's brother though. Literally no similarities in scope or actions nor storytelling and aren't even in the same vein. It's a puzzle where you've been given some clues and rest is for you to figure out. A rarity in commercial cinema. A perfect movie to watch with friends and have endless discussions about (ie. if everyone involved actually likes the sheer audacity of it). I'd say JDW should be considered for a Bond movie he was that good. Performances by actors are a strong point.

Oh such a beautiful movie. I'm planning to rewatch it tomorrow. It was everything that I hoped Pontypool would have been. For people expecting a fast paced movie or something that is big on action, beware it isn't so at all. It basically is a mumblecore. But it has been shot so beautiful. The acting and the chemistry is so so natural. The OST in particular is a perfect fit. It's been a long time since a tiny movie especially related to this particular theme is being lauded not just for the effort but for the quality as well. It manages to showcase a sense of wonder, that is not around these days. Something that even Steven Spielberg will applaud.

2 bonus episodes if Breaking Bad is what El Camino is. Doesn't hamper its legacy but just about adds another touch of beauty to Breaking Bad. Was it necessary? Maybe not, but who wouldn't want to watch more of Breaking Bad. So in its own way it just adds a tiny pinch of salt to the savoury dish that Breaking Bad is. It will be interesting to see how Better Call Saul closes this BB universe when it does.
