Saw the movie twice on opening weekend (once by myself and came back to bring my mom) and once more the following week. We both left feeling so empowered like we could do anything. We need more movies like this. This movie didn't ignore the slave trade, but also highlighted the strength of our people. It was phenomenal. I laughed. I gasped. I cried tears of sadness and I cried tears of joy. I cannot respect any reviews that have only 1 star because this movie was so good. It deserves a solid 10 or higher. Run, don't walk.
