across the spider-verse is arguably the best movie to come out in 2023 so far. it has become my new obsession. i love every one of the spider-people, miles’ character arc and the fact that he’s not like the rest of the spider heroes, and the spot. i love spot and the fact that he was a fun, goofy character in the beginning but later on became a multiversal threat. everyone that was a part of the spider society was great. pavitr was fun, hobie was super cool, peter b was great (as always), and margo kess was also great. i love how both margo and hobie helped miles, with hobie showing him how to escape the shield thing miguel put him in, and margo letting him go back to his universe. i also like how because of hobie disliking consistency, his color palette and art style changes throughout the movie to show that as a fun detail. one thing that i need to appreciate about the movie is the work put into it. it took 3 years just to figure out how to animate hobie. the art, the fight scenes, just the whole movie over all. how each universe is different, like gwen’s universe is a watercolor type thing. and how they showed spot and miles in the future in pavitr’s universe like a sketchbook type thing. i just love it. that is all i have to say about the movie. there is much more but this is too long. anyways, good job sony animation. please put my spidersona in the movie :)
