My mother has this book on her bedside table, dogeared with many passages underlined or annotated. This book is for parents of transgender teenagers who want more "proof" that their children are being brainwashed or influenced to be the people they are. Mine included. I've read through a majority of this book and was just saddened with the knowledge that my parents will likely never "get me" because they're consuming media like this. Even though I am an adult. Abigail Shrier uses ROGD often in this book, something that has been discredited many times as it only asked for the feedback of parents who are unaccepting of their transgender kids, not the trans individuals themselves. I don't think it needs to be said that that's just a bad experiment scientifically.
And after saying that she respects transgender adults, goes on to mock, misgender, and belittle them later (who figured). She contradicts herself so many times I lost count, and doesn't seem to understand that before these trans adults that she claims to respect were adults, they were trans teenagers who likely knew who they were already. If you think this book or its sources are reliable, I urge you to look at opposing views just to see what they have to say, even if it doesn't change your mind.
