K-dramas has like 100s of ‘period’ pieces but this!!! A true masterpiece delivered by not-so-popular-casts which I know makes some viewers quite skeptical but I’m so so glad they casted Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin as the main protagonists. Haven’t really watched their other series but holy moly did they set a BAR for the rest of the industry with their acting. And when the series is amazing you know somehow that half the credit goes to the director. Can’t wait for his other projects cos the way this series was directed, every little nuances of the scenes was justified. I could pretty much tell how much the production team must have devoted their time in the making of the series. The bts of the series made me realize that unlike the new recent dramas where they use more vfx or green screen, this drama used real location shooting which made the series so incredibly believable and aesthetic. The storytelling from the beginning till the end— just WOW!!! And also, the cinematography and photography was to die for. During the entire series, I’ve been holding my tissue box with me cos I’ve been hysterically crying. 11/10 recommended!!!
